Gaza Parkour
Parkour is dangerous, but life in Gaza is more dangerous than you can possibly imagine: bullets flying, tanks everywhere, rockets falling from the sky…
– Ahmar Mattar
It was a genuine emotion to see the wonder in the eyes of these Gaza kids who, thanks to a Parkour event, managed to get out of the Strip for the first time in their life. They had never seen the world ‘outside’, marveling for the simplest things, having always jumped around on the sand of the dunes… their astonishment taught us so much. We met them at the event organized by Eden Parkour and Uisp Bologna at TPO, thanks to the tenacious Meri Calvelli.
You can get hurt or break a bone doing Parkour, but the real danger for us is that they’re killing our dreams, and Parkour is what most resembles our lives…
